What Does My Birthday Mean?

Something fun I found on FaceBook..

***Your Birthdate: June 11***

Spiritual and thoughtful, you tend to take a step back from the world. You're very sensitive to what's going on around you, yet you remain calm.Although you are brilliant, it may take you a while to find your niche.Your creativity is supreme, but it sometimes makes it hard for you to get things done.

Your strength: Your inner peace

Your weakness: You get stuck in the clouds

Your power color: Emerald

Your power symbol: Leaf

Your power month: November

This really explains a lot!!!

Snow in May?

So they are calling for snow tomorrow. I don't know who "they" is, but I already don't like them. Let's face it - snow this late in May is wrong. Snow at anytime in May is wrong.

It's supposed to be May Flowers and we're still talking about snow. I bought a house with a pool and it's snowing in May. Can I get a weather refund? Will anyone guarantee me sunshine and warm days till November?

The one bright side is that the bain of my existence (staining our screen room and deck" is not possible in the snow!!! From that perspective let it snow, let is snow, let is snow - maybe I'll dig out the ski's, but that would mean cleaning the basement....

The Essence of Mother

Happy Mothers Day to all moms and moms to be out there who have given the gift of life.

Remarkable thing mothers.

Perhaps the most complicated and intense creature on the face of the planet.

They can go from being the most caring, nurturing living thing you've ever seen to the most fierce and vicious assassin if something is threatening their child.

Mothers are tender yet firm.

Mothers are part teacher, doctor, lawyer, drama coach, bus driver, martha stewart, maid, chef, pack horse and the list goes on.

Then mothers become grandmothers and the feelings and actions start all over again.

Quite literally - none of us would be here without mothers, but more importantly none of us would become functioning members of society, caring and compassionae or committed to a cause - without our moms guidance and firm hand along the way.

Thanks to my mom, grandmother and to Ben's mom for everything you do.

Thank you is not enough!!

Searching for things that Matter

Life has hit one of those unusual points where I have little control and must now hang on - even if I don't like the ride. We all hit points like that and it's what we do when we get control back that speaks volumes as to who we are as individuals.

At the end of the day I have discovered a few key things that truly matter.

1) My son's smile is the most important thing in my life
2)Finding old friends again is very comforting
3) There are people who accept things as they are today - not always pushing for the way it could be tomorrow.
4)Your integrity is most important - don't ever let someone take that away from you.
5) A reputation can take a lifetime to build and only seconds to destroy
6) In times of strife, real friends are standing at your doorway, others forget your phone number.

Thanks for the lesson!!

Day 1 - Part 2

Heading back for fireworks and parade. Can't ever get enough Disney!!!

Fw: Disney Day 1

Well the day started off with a whirl at the Cheap Ticket Time Share Fiasco of 07. NEVER try to save money - it will just frustrate you!! Having said that we did get a free breakfast for an hour of our time. Disney so far has been amazing!! Short lines and fun rides. Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and Haunted House all have been very cool. Ben stuck his nose up at Mexican, but Erin saved the day. Now in line to see Captain Jack Sparrow and pirates of the Carribean. More later.....
